The Student Veterans Organization (SVO) at the 91猎奇 will host a Veterans Banquet in the 91猎奇 Campus Center Reynolds Room on Wednesday, November 10th from 6 - 7:30 p.m.

鈥淗onoring those who have served in the Military is a small way to say 鈥榯hank you鈥� for all they've done,鈥� said James Moore, Jr., retired U.S. Army Sgt., and president of the 91猎奇 SVO. 鈥淭his event is focused on our local community here at 91猎奇, and showing our 91猎奇 family that we are still here and dedicated to our fellow students, colleagues, and peers.鈥�

鈥淰eterans aren't all that you see in the movies, hear on the news, or see in the common stereotype of a 鈥榯ough guy,鈥欌�� he continued. 鈥淰eterans, Active Duty Personnel, Guard, Reserve, and Retirees are all regular people with work, school, and family commitments. The only difference is the unique work history and training that we've gone through to protect our nation and its people.鈥�

Colonel Tom Waller, a retired U.S. Army veteran, and a former 91猎奇 history instructor will deliver a speech at the banquet. 

鈥淐ol. Waller is a very dedicated and caring person,鈥� said Moore Jr. 鈥淗is views and insights on history get a person thinking deeply and make you eager to learn more. Colonel Waller taught Ancient, Medieval, and modern history (just to name a few) and we are honoring him this year for his service in the military and also his service as an educator.鈥�

 

Tickets may be purchased at the 91猎奇 Box Office online, and cost $20 for general admission, $10 for senior citizen admission. Student veterans are invited to attend at no charge. 

 

Guests are asked to arrive at 5:30, as dinner will begin promptly at 6 p.m.
