The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and approved by the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the Arkansas State Approving Agency for veterans’ training. 

Beyond the institutional accreditation, individual 91ÁÔÆæ programs, including nursing, business, education, and allied health, earn accreditation from the national and state bodies that govern their fields. 

These programmatic accreditations confirm that graduates meet the standards employers, licensing boards, and transfer institutions expect. Because each accrediting relationship is reviewed on its own renewal cycle, the list below reflects 91ÁÔÆæ’s current accreditors by college.

In addition, the School of Education offers an Associate of Applied Science in early childhood education and a preschool education credential. Candidates pursuing the elementary K-6 degree can also receive an age 3-4 endorsement to add to their licensure area. All candidates may choose to pursue the special education resource room endorsement or the Teaching English as a Second Language certificate.
